Longwood, FL – The Festival of Orchestras is pleased to announce a partnership with the Northland Church Performing Arts Center on Dog Track Road in Longwood, to bring Classical world-class symphony music to Central Florida.

Northland’s 3,100 seat performing arts center is just over a year old and well equipped to host the Festival of Orchestra’s large international symphony orchestras. “We’re so happy to be bringing our world-class symphony orchestras, some with more than 100 musicians, to the Northland Performing Arts Center and the people of Seminole County,” said Festival of Orchestras’ Executive Director Susan Carey. “One of our subscribers told us about the church and when we went to visit we were in complete awe over the concert hall! It’s an amazing facility that will be a perfect venue for our visiting orchestras this season,” said Carey.

Northland Church began their mission of bringing arts to the Longwood/Central Florida community in 2008, and recently brought the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in early 2009.
“Northland’s new state-of-the-art facility provided a grand concert hall experience for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra with Pinchas Zuckerman, which received rave reviews. We are looking forward to our partnership with Festival of Orchestras as we serve our community together by bringing the best in the performing arts” said Northland’s Executive Director of Operations, Marc McMurrin.
Other Festival of Orchestras concerts will take place at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre and the Osceola Performing Arts Center in Kissimmee. Highlighting the 2009-2010 concert season we welcome world-renowned pianist Lang Lang, with conductor Christoph Eschenbach and the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival. Lang Lang wowed spectators at the 2008 Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies in China, was named one of the 50 Sexiest Men Alive by People magazine, and was recently featured on Oprah for his dynamic piano performances and charity foundation efforts. Lang Lang who is just 26 years old will be joining the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra who are uniquely comprised of musicians all under the age of 27 for a vibrant and youthful performance.

The Festival of Orchestras has enhanced the cultural community of Central Florida with the world’s greatest symphony orchestras for over 25 years and is widely recognized as Central Florida’s premier classical music series featuring live performances of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras, world renowned conductors, and classical superstar soloists. As a non-profit organization the Festival of Orchestras creates and provides programming to introduce Central Florida children to classical music.
